Oak Hills Athletic Boosters brings in Rusty Wallace

Rusty Wallace will be the featured keynote speaker at the Oak Hills High School Athletics Fundraiser at The Woodlands in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 16, 2006 from approximately 6pm – 9pm. The event will also feature an autograph session and will serve as a fundraiser for the high school athletic program. With a storied history in the world of stock car racing, Rusty Wallace is a name synonymous with success. Rusty raced for 10 years before joining the Winston Cup series in 1983. In 1984 he claimed the Rookie of the Year award, and had his first Winston Cup victory in April of ’86. During the 1989 season he edged out the legendary Dale Earnhardt for the Championship by a mere 12 points. He has continued to battle at the top of the pack for several years, always putting himself in contention, including a valiant 1993 effort when he finished the season with 10 wins, only to finish second in the Championship to Dale Earnhardt. His 16 year win-streak came to an end in 2002 but he’s kept in the Chase – even through this year – his last full time year on the Nextel Cup Circuit. At the beginning of the 2005 season he ranked second in consecutive races with and astounding 650!  In fact, with 55 wins, 36 poles, and the Championship in 1989, Rusty ranks as one of NASCAR’s all-time greats. This is evidenced by his strong presence in the Chase for the Championship this year. If consistent success and going out on top is the mark of a true champion, Rusty Wallace is the portrait of success!
